A HEROIC schoolgirl desperately tried to save her mum after she was allegedly stabbed by her bodybuilder boyfriend. Despite the ten-year-old’s brave act, Monique Lezsak, 39, died shortly after the horror attack in Melbourne, Australia. Cops were called to the home in Kassan Gardens on Tuesday morning to reports of a stabbing. Lezsak’s 10-year-old twins – a boy and a girl – were reportedly at home at the time of the alleged attack. The girl bravely tried to intervene and save her wounded mum. The youngster suffered cuts to her arm and was taken to hospital in a stable condition. She has since been discharged – and has now been hailed as a hero by the mum’s heartbroken friends. Jacqueline Schwarcz told local media: “She’s definitely a hero in all our eyes. “She’s physically good but obviously as family we’re just going to surround her and support her through this because this is not something that we know how to navigate.” Schwarcz said Lezsak was the “best mum”. She said: “Most importantly, she was the best mum. She was so kind, she lived for her kids. “Every single day, it was just about her kids and she made sure she gave them experience and fun.” Jade Roberts, another pal, told The Age that Lezsak had a bright future ahead of herself after starting her own beauty product line. She said: “She was an elite athlete who trained rain, hail or shine and nothing would get in the way of her gym session. “I really took inspiration from her commitment to her passion.” Cops said Lindemann was in hospital with life threatening upper body injuries. Detectives have named the 52-year-old man as the suspect. Lindemann, from Adelaide, is a self-confessed “gym junkie”, according to his social media. The man is also a father to two children of his own and had been dating Lezsak for several months before she was killed, it was reported. Lezsak’s death came just days after Lindemann posted on Instagram: “Don’t forget that you are going to die… and you don’t know when.” The Instagram message about death was on a list of “10 bitter truths” posted by Lindemann. Lezsak and Lindemann were understood to be in a relationship. In April, Lezsak posted on social media about spending time with Lindemann, writing: “Weekend away with you.” Anyone with information or CCTV of the incident is urged to contact police. HOW YOU CAN GET HELP: Women's Aid has this advice for victims and their families:
  • Always keep your phone nearby.
  • Get in touch with charities for help, including the Women’s Aid live chat helpline and services such as SupportLine.
  • If you are in danger, call 999.
  • Familiarise yourself with the Silent Solution, reporting abuse without speaking down the phone, instead dialing “55”.
  • Always keep some money on you, including change for a pay phone or bus fare.
  • If you suspect your partner is about to attack you, try to go to a lower-risk area of the house – for example, where there is a way out and access to a telephone.
  • Avoid the kitchen and garage, where there are likely to be knives or other weapons. Avoid rooms where you might become trapped, such as the bathroom, or where you might be shut into a cupboard or other small space.
